Interesting morning… I went to the Media museum in Bradford to meet some prospective clients-it was certainly one of the more unusual client meet and greets. These guys kept me on my toes to say the least, I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding which will be held at The Grand Victoria next year. I am busy putting together some test shoots, interested at the moment in making photographs as well as taking them. This process can be as involved as you wish, I always start with a pen and paper and then the glue comes out and before you know it I have a sketchbook full of stories I wish to tell. I love love love this process. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend in the september sun, N x

This morning I met with a future bride who is getting married in November, great start to a great day. I found 10 minutes this morning to flick through some photography magazines this morning, it’s amazing how inspired I can feel from looking at other people’s work and words. I have been a bit distracted lately, I guess I have been thinking about my direction and future plans. The interview I recently wrote was centered around ’style’ and I suppose it got me thinking about how i’d define my style, and then whether I would be content with that definition. If that makes sense. Like in any profession I guess you have to sit down every now and then and ask yourself if you are happy with where you are heading, and if not, why not, and then make the changes accordingly. I am in no way shape or form saying I am unhappy with my profession, just that the photography industry is huge, with many threads, and I want to explore a couple of things. Your style is a lot like your identity, which I don’t want to change, but I do want to evolve.
I began a new book last night and there was a thought provoking quote on the opening page… thought i’d share it with you.
“True love is like ghosts, which everybody talks about and few have seen”
A picture from a recent wedding, even the rain didn’t stop this bride from smiling.
Canape anyone?

Sorry I have been off the radar these last couple of days… just getting back into the swing of things. Good day here, I can finally unveil one of my latest projects… my mentoring/workshop website- www.thelockproject.com As you will see it still needs some work and I will sort out the ‘right’ logo and add to the gallery but I will tweek that each day. I know The Lock Project is an unusual name for a website/business but if you are interested in the thoughts behind it I explain it on the site-nothing profound just personal to me. The article which kept me busy last week will be published on October 15th, but I will blog that nearer the time. N*
One word. Lemsip.

Yep, I am full of cold. I have been busy wrapping up an article which explains my lack of post yesterday. I have a reasonably quiet weekend so expect plenty of posts… including an interview with Doug Boutwell (the genius behind Totally Rad Actions) and recent wedding pictures. Until then, sniff sniff x
Oh so cold…

I won’t pretend I have had a good day because I haven’t. Blunt I know. However as I wrote that all the elements of my day flicked through my brain…. interviewed an American photographer, worked on my new website, chatted to lovely woman who owns a children’s boutique regarding future commercial shoot… okay so actually it wasn’t all bad. But. I can’t figure out the heating and I am cold. I tried to escape walking the dog tonight but she gave me that look… yep you know the one. AND. That film last night was so depressing it was like a shadow hanging over me all day. Moan over. Back to the good… my new website goes live this week… woo hoo. I think you’ll like it. I am sorry this doesn’t include a picture. N x
Heading out to the movies to see The Duchess

Just about to leave the house when I remembered I haven’t posted anything today. As you have probably gathered I am going to the films, I haven’t seen a good film for ages so I hope this one is a hit. Here is a picture of Flora from last week. I haven’t even loaded Fridays’ wedding on to the computer but as soon as I do i’ll blog it. For now N x
