Samantha & Nigel: Wedding
Sunday, April 12th, 2009
Yesterday saw the start of wedding season-from here it’s pretty chaotic. I found myself feeling really anxious the night before, it felt a little like how it felt the night before term began after the holidays. Anyway it got off to a fab start. It was a year ago that I met Samantha and she booked Hope for her wedding but the wedding was every bit like she described. The day flew by and thankfully stayed dry, all the guests were lovely and I really enjoyed myself. Potter had puppy sitters, who worked in shifts. I got home and my Dad seemed a little stressed-I think the novelty of Potter has worn off for him. I don’t think he realised when he offered just how much attention she needs. So if anyone out there fancies Potter sitting you’re more than welcome-I wish I could claim she is house trained, or that she wont try and chew the bottom of your trousers (which makes walking tricky) and maybe leave a few teeth marks on your hands however I can say that her antics will make you laugh and when she is sleepy she is very cuddly. And I will provide cake. I am still making my way through the photographs from yesterday but have picked out a handful to begin with. I met the girls at Synergy hair salon in Harrogate, a relatively unknown salon on Park Parade which I have to say were fabulous. Nx
Happy New Year!
Sunday, January 4th, 2009
Christmas came, Christmas went. Probably the best part of my Christmas this year was going to midnight mass at York minster-something I have never done before. Last year we had intentions, good intentions, but this year we actually went. Other than midnight mass this year felt like some of the others to be honest, I think Christmas is so much about Children, I think that’s where the magic is-and the Children in our family are now teenagers and as I think I am next in line to have some, children that is, we may have to wait a while. I had a wedding on 27th December, which was good because I did way to much sale shopping-Boden had the best shoe sale, and I, like most women have a thing about shoes. I have enjoyed my time off, I have a list a mile long of New Year’s resolutions-from learning the piano to travelling to two new places. I think what I enjoyed most about the service on Christmas eve was the mention of ‘newness’ … new life, new year, new beginnings. I enjoyed having time off to pause and reflect, asses and change. So Happy New Year to you all, N x

Ashley & Dan: Wedding
Monday, November 24th, 2008
Now this is going to be a long post so I am going to break it down and blog as the week goes on. Saturday’s wedding was one of my best EVER!! Everyone was so kind and thoughtful and the couples friends were a testament to what great people Ashley and Dan are. I can’t say enough good things about this wedding-the weather was gorgeous, the venue was one of the best and the bride one of the most beautiful! Thank you thank you for all the kindness shown to me on Saturday, N x
Josee & Damian: A few of my favourites

I love the last one, the registrar came to the room to ask Josee a few questions and I managed to sneak a picture of her notes. Also the light yesterday was beautiful and it beamed through the windows into the room where Josee was getting ready, I like the shot of her hands… it makes me feel nervous just seeing how nervous she was.

I am making my way through yesterday’s wedding while doing a million other things so will have to post images post by post however have to show off the ’sweet’ table. Even editing these images made me hungry, I am a sucker for pick and mix style sweets… drumsticks, refreshers, love hearts etc…. (perhaps this is the real reason I love going to the movies-for the pick and mix!).
It’s all in the details.

Interesting morning… I went to the Media museum in Bradford to meet some prospective clients-it was certainly one of the more unusual client meet and greets. These guys kept me on my toes to say the least, I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding which will be held at The Grand Victoria next year. I am busy putting together some test shoots, interested at the moment in making photographs as well as taking them. This process can be as involved as you wish, I always start with a pen and paper and then the glue comes out and before you know it I have a sketchbook full of stories I wish to tell. I love love love this process. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend in the september sun, N x

Yep, I am full of cold. I have been busy wrapping up an article which explains my lack of post yesterday. I have a reasonably quiet weekend so expect plenty of posts… including an interview with Doug Boutwell (the genius behind Totally Rad Actions) and recent wedding pictures. Until then, sniff sniff x
