Blossom
Sunday, May 3rd, 2009

I love the Blossom trees, the garden is a blanket of pink leaves, and so is my carpet as they somehow blow in the window. Potter loves trying to catch the leaves as they fall. I had a fab couples shoot this afternoon which I will post, they suggested meeting at Newby Hall which was lovely. Some mean dog attacked Potter this morning, it was horrible so this afternoon I arranged a walk with a friend who has a puppy to restore her confidence. Thankfully it worked and they played crazily. Finally Potter has a furry friend.

This morning Potter and I went exploring some new locations for shoots and it was lovely being out and about. She is so good and never strays to far-she just follows me around and I love that. I taught her to ’sit’ last week and after a few attempts she totally got it, and now sit’s whenever I ask, even before I put down her food. Last night we went over to some friends who used to have a Dalmation and so they LOVE her and they were really impressed with her ’sitting’ at just 10 weeks old. She had a busy week last week and met so many new people, she is pleased to meet people which I love, her little tail wags constantly. We start puppy classes in May so hopefully she can make some furry friends too. Anyway here she is exploring and clearly I wore her out as you can see from the photo after. Nx

Miss Potter is so BIG!

I swear I wake up each day now and wonder where Potter went! She is changing so much. I haven’t posted any pictures of her for a while so snapped a few this morning. I am not sure from these shots if you can tell just how much she has grown. She is still asleep on my lap but only just, though I take comfort knowing where she is because she is chewing anything she can find, I know toddlers are hard work but at least they don’t chew yours shoes. x

She sleeps. Just not during the night!!!!

So here she is… Potter
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009

I can’t believe this day finally arrived, I have wanted a dalmation for years. So far she is living up to my expectations-she’s asleep on my lap as I type this. She seems to just wander aimlessly looking very lost and very tired but hasn’t quite settled enough to figure out her bed is for sleeping, and yes she really can just take herself off to bed at any point. When she climbs on to your lap and curls in to a ball you know she is utterly exhausted and desperate for you to hold her while she sleeps. I figure I am probably breaking all the rules in the book by giving in to her, but hey ho. I guess the real test will be tonight, I have sworn she is coming no where near my bed. I have been trailing behind her with my camera as it seems she already has a fan base waiting to see what she looks like, after hearing so much about her awaited arrival. She is very fast and very small so forgive my pictures. Today is a very very good day. N x

Only 2 sleeps to go. Yes, I really am THAT excited.

Up and Down. High and Low.
Monday, March 9th, 2009

This seems to be how things have been this past week. I will tell you about the highs and spare you of the lows. Firstly it was my birthday party on Saturday night and it was lovely, I have such great friends who all in their own special ways blew me away with their thoughtfulness. I was spoilt with gifts, the best thing about gifts is knowing that my friends know me so well and listen to all the ramblings that leave my mouth! I moved on Friday, and it was a beautiful blue sunny day-perfect for moving. It was pretty exhausting but everything had to be ship shape as I had friends staying for my birthday-not sure I timed that right! Anyway the best news I have, which I have been bursting to share is that I bought a dog. She was born on Valentines day and I go collect her on April 1st. Her breeder just emailed me over some pictures so I can see how she is getting on, apparently she is just moving on to solids and is the best eater in the group (that’s my girl!) Introducing Potter.

Happy New Year!
Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Christmas came,  Christmas went. Probably the best part of my Christmas this year was going to midnight mass at York minster-something I have never done before. Last year we had intentions, good intentions, but this year we actually went. Other than midnight mass this year felt like some of the others to be honest, I think Christmas is so much about Children, I think that’s where the magic is-and the Children in our family are now teenagers and as I think I am next in line to have some, children that is, we may have to wait a while. I had a wedding on 27th December, which was good because I did way to much sale shopping-Boden had the best shoe sale, and I, like most women have a thing about shoes. I have enjoyed my time off, I have a list a mile long of New Year’s resolutions-from learning the piano to travelling to two new places. I think what I enjoyed most about the service on Christmas eve was the mention of ‘newness’ … new life, new year, new beginnings. I enjoyed having time off to pause and reflect, asses and change. So Happy New Year to you all, N x

London bound…
Thursday, October 16th, 2008

I am heading to London for a shoot this weekend and I am looking forward to it, we are using Borough Market as the main location which is one of my all time favourite places in the UK-I love the hustle and bustle and really hope that transfers to the pictures-we’ll see. I will post the results next week. I also have a children’s shoot on Monday that is particularly exciting. When they add more hours to the day I will blog more. N x
